Skimming the surface
Article Abstract:
The models of the microscopic contact area between two surfaces work surprisingly well or completely fail depending on the aspects of adhesion or friction being investigated. The conclusions highlight the importance of atomic-scale details in controlling the behavior of surfaces, as they adhere to and slide past each other.

The structural basis of protein acetylation by the p300/CBP transcriptional coactivator
Article Abstract:
The article discusses the structural mechanism involved in the process of protein acetylation by the transcriptional coactivator p300/CBP (CREBBP). The study is extremely helpful for the development of new epigenetic therapies involving the modulation of p300/CBP histone acetyltransferase activity.

mTOR controls mitochondrial oxidative function through a YY1-PGC-1[alpha] transcriptional complex
Article Abstract:
The studies about mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), a kinase that regulates cell growth, size and survival is reported. Findings suggest that mTOR controls the maintenance of mitochondrial oxidative function through a transcription factor yin-yang 1 and PGC-1[alpha].
